Fungus element + mushroom Island

The fungus element is somehow related to death, decay, and shit, or a shit element.
Mushrooms feed off of either dead carcasses or shit, or a "combustination"
(combination, reaction) of the two. It could be symbolic of the Tree of Death,
which is not evil, but small and dark, yet illuminating and beneficial for the body.
Mushrooms could be seen as gray, or as blue, red, or any color and undiscovered
color for that matter. Mushrooms are still mysterious to me but I want to learn
more about them.
